Imagine my surprise that a few people actually ready my weblog. I suppose that I should fill some stuff in to keep you from being offended.
First off, I am going to migrate this site to the new EMMA management system fairly soon. EMMA will do a way better job of handling posts, and hopefully give me some incentive to actually work on the site a bit.
Next, I have update the source code for the MP3 player serial controller interface. I made a booboo and uploaded the wrong one last week. It is available here.
MP3 Player Progress ReduxJan 5 2003
First post after a long wait, so here is the skinny:
- My grandmother (on my mom's side) died just before xmas. Needless to say my mom was a wreck, so Helen and I headed over to take care of her a couple of times, and I helped Helen make Xmas dinner for everybody. Helen did a stunning job.
- I brought our recently repaired digital camera home to download all of the pix that we took, and it died. First thing on boxing day. I am getting really tired of this routine. I think that when it get's back, I am going to unload the piece of crap and exchange it for a DSC-717V instead. Hopefully eBay users don't end up reading my weblog. On a related note, anybody want a killer deal on a Canon G1 with 128 megs of CFlash?
- My truck's starter died HARD. Push starting the damn thing really takes the energy out of you, so I bought a new starter. My friend at work Buck helped me put it in (and by helped, I mean he tore out the old one and replaced it inside of 15 minutes. The man is amazing). Still, I am out a couple C-notes just for the parts.
- I finished the software for the MP3 player. It now does everything it is supposed to do, and I just have to build an amp for it before I place it in it's new home in the dash of my truck
- I played with some lego, and designed a new cruiser with car styled steering. I will probably bring it to a VRC meeting at some point. December 2002 Archives
