Magnus, Robot Fighter, a cool atomic age robot comic, is being brought back to life. Just in time too, considering the successes that Skynet's Boeing's UCAV is having on it's completely autonomous (yep, as in no humans involved) WMD deployment tests.
Doesn't this ad copy sound scarily like Terminator narrative?
Because of their small size, lack of pilot interfaces and training requirements, reusability and longterm storage capability, UCAVs are projected to cost up to 65 percent less to produce than future manned fighter aircraft, and up to 75 percent less to operate and maintain than current systems......the UCAV will be capable of carrying precision guided weapons such as, the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB).
...placed into a container for shipment elsewhere or storage for up to 10 years. Container interfaces allow for periodic maintenance monitoring and software updating of the vehicle's systems. If needed, the UCAV is designed to be reassembled and prepared for combat in 60-90 minutes.
Just think, not only can you have third world countries (including their civilians!) obliterated from the comfort of your own home, but no bomber pilots will have to go home feeling vaguely guilty.
