I am going to have to try something a little unusual on my Athlon64-3400 system in order to get it to install a 32bit OS. It seems that none of the Gentoo LiveCDs will boot my system. I already have a working Amd64 build, so I thought to myself "Hey... Why don't I just start from Stage3 right inside of my regular Gentoo install?
Wish me luck. This could bomb the whole system. I hope that Grub likes booting to 32/64 bit from the same static 64 bit binary. If it works, I'll post a howto on the forums and here as well. Promise.
